The Scottish legal practice of J. & H. Mitchell W.S. was founded in Highland Perthshire (see map) in 1836. The firm attends to a wide range of business, excepting appearances in court, notably:
- Property (including Estate Agency and commercial conveyancing)
- Agricultural Law (and estate factoring)
- Investment Management (and independent advice)
- Charity Law (and administration of community groups)
- Wills, Succession, Trusts and Tax Planning
Situated in Pitlochry, near the very centre of Scotland, the firm occupied the Union Bank Building (now the Library and Council Offices) until 1965, with the Senior Partner of the firm also being the Bank Agent.
Just over 30 years ago, the firm moved to its current premises at 51 Atholl Road, Pitlochry. In 1966, a branch office was opened at 2 The Square, Aberfeldy.
There are three Partners, Colin Liddell, Lesley Gray, Duncan Thomson, each with specialities.

The firm's location is ideal, being within easy reach of all parts of Scotland, whilst enjoying the benefits of a rural base, well away from city stress, in a wonderful environment. Pitlochry is a tourist and recreational centre of considerable character which is particularly famed for its Pitlochry Festival Theatre, Hydro-Electric Dam and Salmon Ladder.
